App - Privacy Policy

1. This is a mobile application owned and operated by the Government of the Republic of Singapore represented by the Ministry of Education.
2. We may collect information in connection with your access to or usage of this mobile application including but not limited to your personal data, IP addresses, device information for the purposes of device identification (such as information about the device used to access this mobile application or the type and version of operating system installed on your device) and version of this mobile application that is installed on your device.
3. We may also collect other information pertaining to your usage of this mobile application through the use of various technologies including but not limited to:
   • Analytics Tags: which are used by us to analyse the effectiveness of the functionalities and features of our mobile application in order to improve your user experience; and
   • Server Logs: which are records of your usage activities which are collected and retained by us for administrative, security and troubleshooting purposes.

Use of Data

4. If you provide us with personal data:
   • Where appropriate, we may share necessary data with other Government Agencies, so as to serve you in the most efficient and effective way, unless such sharing is prohibited by law.
   • We may share your personal data with non-Government entities that:
     1. have been authorised to carry out specific Government services including but not limited to services required to provide, support, maintain or improve the functions and features of this mobile application; or
     2. are the legal owners of any school in which your child is enrolled.
   • We will NOT share your personal data with other non-Government entities without your consent except where such sharing complies with the law.
   • For your convenience, we may also display to you data you had previously supplied us or other Government Agencies. This will speed up the transaction and save you the trouble of repeating previous submissions. Should the data be out-of-date, please supply us the latest data.

Protection of Data

5. To safeguard your personal data, all electronic storage and transmission of personal data is secured with appropriate security technologies.
6. This mobile application may contain links to external websites whose data protection and privacy practices may differ from ours. We are not responsible for the content and privacy practices of these other websites and encourage you to consult the privacy notices of those sites.

Definitions

8. “Government Agency” refers to an Organ of State, Ministry, Department or Statutory Board.
9. “Non-Government entity” refers to a person other than a Government Agency.
10. “Personal data” shall have the same meaning as its definition in the Personal Data Protection Act 2012.
